The morning it met the magnet

Reconstructed from studio floor telemetry. All timings approximate. The magnet was not interviewed.

    It crossed the plain

    At sunrise MAGNOPE confidently crossed the studio plain. Posture nominal. Gait efficient. Eight tons of unbothered machine.

    Then it noticed the magnet

    The machine stopped. Its eyes widened by 40%. Every emergency protocol it holds returned the same single recommendation.

    It climbed the chair

    MAGNOPE climbed onto the nearest yellow chair — a moulded plastic seat rated to 110 kg, now supporting seventy-two times that.

    The chair became a shield

    When elevation alone no longer felt sufficient, MAGNOPE picked the chair up and held it in front of itself. The chair is now both floor and armour.

  5. Now

    The magnet never moved

    It has not moved once. It is a magnet. MAGNOPE has been retreating ever since.
